Am pretty relieved - it blocked out a ton. The Renaissance isn't the yarn in the pattern, and when the pieces were laid out, it wasn't looking too promising. But am ready to begin the short rows for the collar when the kids go to sleep tonight, so stay tuned....

And an important question:

Has anyone flown recently with a sock project? What are the chances of getting my Magic Loop Addis on a plane? How about wooden DPNs?

Wow! Look at all of those finished pieces! So close to ANOTHER finished sweater!

I flew just last week with both DPNs (rosewood) and bamboo circs, and had no problem (well, except that the sock on the DPNs turned out way too big!). The only thing to remember is to take pack your scissors in your checked luggage. I carry fingernail clippers with me, instead.

I've never had a problem with getting on a plane with knitting needles (metal or bamboo, straights and circs). If you think they might stop you, bring a self addressed stamped envelope so you can slip them in there and ask them to mail it for you. I wouldn't worry though.
