For I own yarn to make this in blue and could do the pattern with little or no effort. Really, it's just a bunch of stocking stitch and some YOs, right?
I did not even try. I bought it at Marshall's today. It was huge and drapey and perfect and deep red. I could not leave without it.
After my few lace starts this summer, I've come to the realization that this might just be the way to go. Worth the $20. And the guilt.

Ok, I'm totally going to check out my Marshalls tomorrow. LoL I love it.
Oh. You totally did THE RIGHT THING. I'd be right there in the checkout line behind you. Hee. Unless, of course, Cookie were to just go ahead and knit it for me. I'm allergic to lace-knitting, I do believe.
Hee, good for you! Just practice saying "Oh, I knit it myself!" for all the compliments you'll get.
cotton or wool? Very pretty. I would have bought it too.
lol... ok, you're forgiven.
I love, love, love lace knitting ~ I'd have rushed home wihout it and cast on with the blue stash yarn...
Blasphemy! Purchased knitting! What's next, I find out you don't celebrate Christmas? Um, wait...
Oh, just tell people you made it. :) In fact, you could have done a whole FO post about it and none of us would have been the wiser! It's a VERY pretty shawl...and it was probably cheaper to buy it, too.
Oh, don't you just love Marshall's? You just never know what you'll end up with! It's like Forrest Gump's freakin' box of chocolates in that store! Great shawl. I'd certainly succumb, too!
